BizWomen
Foundation, Inc. announced today that it has engaged an International
Business Development Team from the Haas
School of Business, Clausen Center for International Business & Policy
at the University of California, Berkeley to develop a comprehensive
market research study and business plan for introducing its BizWomen
entrepreneurship program to women in developing countries and
in the US.
The
IBD team will look at worldwide best practices, and make recommendations
as to how BizWomen can structure itself to best meet the needs
of women in its target market, as well as increase the
efficacy of the BizWomen program and curriculum. BizWomen has
chosen Ghana, Africa as the site for its first pilot program.
BizWomen will also introduce its business education curriculum
this Spring to 100 women in Afghanistan.
The
IBD team will travel to Ghana, Africa this May to visit local
organizations and survey as many villagers as possible. They
will examine firsthand what the key problems facing women in
Ghana, and the efficacy of the BizWomen program to address those
needs.
The
BizWomen Foundation provides women with experiential learning
programs that help teach basic business and entrepreneurship
skills as well as understanding the microcredit or lending process.
The
BizWomen Foundation is dedicated to helping women in underdeveloped
countries and in the US build self-sufficient lives through business
education and microfinance. |
